Silent Poison Build
Overview
The Poison Build is Silent's most consistent win condition against high-HP enemies. Noxious Fumes passively applies Poison every turn while you defend; once stacks reach 20–30, a single Catalyst doubles them for an often-lethal total. The strategy is straightforward — apply Poison, maintain Block, and use Catalyst at the right moment — but mastering the timing of Catalyst and knowing when your Poison is sufficient to close out a fight is what separates good runs from great ones.
Key Cards
- Noxious Fumes: Power costing 1. At the start of each turn, applies 2 Poison to all enemies. The cornerstone of the build — the earlier it hits the board, the more Poison accumulates before Catalyst.
- Catalyst: Costs 1, doubles the current Poison on a target (triples when upgraded). The finisher. With 30 Poison active, Catalyst turns that into 60 (or 90 upgraded), dealing 60–90 damage over the following turns on top of existing ticks.
- Deadly Poison: Costs 1, applies 5 Poison (7 upgraded). Direct Poison stacker that complements passive accumulation; useful in early fights before Noxious Fumes is established.
- Bouncing Flask: Costs 2, bounces between 3 random targets applying 3 Poison each time. Excellent multi-enemy poison distribution; also triggers Snecko Skull.
- Corrosive Wave: Costs 1, applies Poison and deals a small amount of damage. Efficient single-target application with direct damage upside.
- Snakebite: Costs 2, deals damage and applies Poison equal to damage dealt. Scales with Strength and Dexterity; high value in longer fights.
- Expose: Costs 0, applies Vulnerable to an enemy. Makes all direct damage — including poison ticks after Vulnerable debuff interaction if the game supports it — hit harder; also useful before Catalyst.
Key Relics
- Snecko Skull: Each time you apply Poison, apply 1 additional Poison. Every source of Poison is doubled in effectiveness; the single best relic for this build.
- Twisted Funnel: At the start of combat, apply 4 Poison to all enemies. Free Poison before you even play a card — spectacular value in Act 1 and 2 multi-enemy rooms.
- Ring of the Drake: Gain 1 Energy at the start of your turn but start each combat with 1 fewer card. The extra Energy accelerates playing Noxious Fumes on turn 1 alongside a defensive card.
- Tingsha: Deal 3 damage to a random enemy on discard. Minor chip damage but free passive damage on discard-heavy turns.
Strategy
- Turn 1 priority: play Noxious Fumes immediately to start the passive Poison clock. Every turn it is delayed is 2 Poison lost.
- After Noxious Fumes is active, spend remaining Energy on Block cards (Defend, Backflip, Blur) to survive while Poison accumulates.
- Use Deadly Poison and Bouncing Flask in early floors or when enemies have low HP — Catalyst is overkill for small fights.
- Track the enemy's HP vs current Poison per turn. If Poison ticks will kill in 3 turns, hold Catalyst for next fight. If they will not, deploy Catalyst once Poison is at 20+.
- Against multi-enemy encounters, Noxious Fumes applies to all enemies simultaneously. Focus Block on the most threatening enemy and let Poison handle the rest.
- In boss fights, aim for 25–35 Poison before Catalyst. Upgraded Catalyst tripling the stack often ends the fight in 1–2 turns.
Pick Priority
- Noxious Fumes: Highest — foundational; take every copy offered up to 2.
- Catalyst: Highest — without it, Poison wins slowly; with it, fights end decisively. Take all copies.
- Deadly Poison: High — reliable stacker; strong in early acts and as a supplement to Noxious Fumes.
- Bouncing Flask: High — multi-enemy coverage and good Poison application per Energy.
- Block cards (Blur, Backflip, Dodge and Roll): High — the build only wins if it survives; consistent Block is non-negotiable.
- Corrosive Wave: Medium — decent but outclassed by Deadly Poison in most situations.
- Snakebite: Medium — situationally strong but requires Strength stacking to reach its ceiling.
- Expose: Low-Medium — useful but not a Poison card; take it when alternatives are weak.
Tips
- Catalyst timing is everything. Using it at 10 Poison when the enemy has 80 HP remaining does nothing meaningful — wait until the doubled value will actually kill or near-kill the enemy.
- Upgraded Catalyst is triple, not double. Upgrading it is one of the highest-value upgrade targets in the build.
- Noxious Fumes applies Poison to all enemies at the start of your turn, so even if an enemy attacks before you act on turn 1, Noxious Fumes' effect triggers at your next turn start.
- Do not neglect Block cards in favour of stacking more Poison sources. Two or three reliable Poison generators are enough; the rest of the deck should be Block.
- Snecko Skull effectively makes every Poison application count double. Prioritise it in Relic shops over most other relics.
- Against enemies that cleanse Poison, Catalyst is useless. Have at least a few direct-damage cards as backup for these encounters. :::
